Encounters with quasi-famous people, part the next
Famous Singer Lady showed up at the open mike this week. When it was her turn to perform, FSL handed me her charts and walked to the microphone. Points awarded for actually having charts. Points deducted for offering absolutely no explanation as to what she wanted me to do. Further points deducted for the sketchiness of the charts, which lacked vital information about tempos and endings.

Points deducted from me for expecting anything else. Grrr.

Points deducted from you for making this a blind item.

I remember the day I was walking in midtown with a few people and saw someone approaching us. "Look, it's Oliver Clark!" Even after I recalled some of his appearances, my friends had no idea who he was.

FSL is in that category. I expect that none of the four of you here would recognize her name (her umpteen "Tonight Show" appearances, Grammy nomination and Top 10 single notwithstanding), but regardless, she's well enough known for me to be discreet.

I think "Wind Beneath My Wings" qualifies to be referred-to by more than just "top 10 single," don't you think? :D

And here I was hoping that Famous Singer Lady was her real name.

That's what friends-only entries are for.
