Not that I'm not still disdainful of walking cell phoners
The newest bizarre trend: Third time in three days that I've seen someone walking down the street while reading a book*. I'm proud to be a multitasker, but that's ridiculous.

*All three were women. Significant?

As long as they're not driving and reading...

I've done that for years, and even got a birthday card with a picture of someone walking and reading as a gift from friends in grad school. So it's not only non-gendered behavior, but it's apparently common enough that there's a card company making coin off of people like us. It can be a truly great joy. Although in my case, it was bascially an indulgence because a.) as a grad student, I could check out books for six months, with no limit to their number, and b.) I didn't have an iPod.
